STAGE 2 BTC KIT
The Stage 2 kit is recommended for towing 3500kg - 4000kg apparatus, and is by far the more popular kit for people towing heavy Caravans and Trailers, how the weight is applied to the vehicle can have a huge impact on traction, braking, hauling and steering.

The stage 2 kit includes a height adjustable Drop Shank, Cast Head Assembly, 1200lb Weight Distribution Hitch System (WDH) and Lovells Haul Ace All Terrain Coupling.
​
The Stage 2 kit is rated to 4000kg braked towing capacity and the ball weight must not exceed 400kg.
​
It is important to remember that a Lovells Braked Towing Capacity (BTC) upgrade can only be fitted to a vehicle in conjunction with a Lovells GVM upgrade.
​
The Stage 2 BTC Upgrade is compatible with the 3900kg and the 4200kg Lovells GVM upgrades.
New vehicles must be fitted prior to first registration for Second Stage Manufacture/Federal Compliance Plate Approval.
Vehicles which are already registered can be fitted with a GVM kit under individual State or Territory Compliance - Please contact Lovells for further detail as each state legislation differs with compliance procedures and GCM revision acceptance.

Only Lovells Automotive Systems Authorised fitters are approved to fit the GVM kit and Lovells endorsed engineering signatories are approved to inspect State Compliance modified vehicles.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS
When fitting a Lovells GVM kit to these vehicles, the vehicle must have the following minimum Tyre Load Index and Speed Rating to remain compliant:
- 3900kg GVM Upgrade: Tyre Load Index "114", Speed Rating " L".
- 4200kg GVM Upgrade: Tyre Load Index "117", Speed Rating "M".

COMPLIANCE OPTIONS
State Compliance - Post Registration
Vehicles which are already registered cannot be fitted under federal approval. In some states of Australia, Lovells can offer State compliance for vehicles already registered in accordance to State Legislation and approved by a Lovells endorsed engineering signatory.

The Lovells GVM upgrade kit has been approved by the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications (compliance plate approval no. 061197) and will help to keep your vehicle legal.
​
Gross Combination Mass GCM increases may not be available in all States.
